Contemporary full calf, spine gilt decorated in compartments with raised bands, remains of morocco label. Title vignette [28], 313,[5],[34], 240 pp. In very good crisp condition inside. Binding generally in good condition, joints a little weak, edges scuffed, spine head a little pulled, some mottling and rubbing to boards. Early(18th C.) owner's annotations neatly in ink to end-papers and sporadically inside, 1930s owner note to rear end-paper. Major grammatical work on Latin, influential in the Netherlands and beyond."Vossius' idea of pictography would become popular among seventeenth-century utopian thinkers, as it could be used to educate all nations and races on earth in a single, unequivocal manner."
