Former owner's signature else tight and unmarked. The jacket shows some mild chipping at the spine ends. It formerly was glued to the inside covers of the book and when lifted off, there was some minor loss to the flaps. There is also some glue residue on the endpapers. The scarce first edition of Dorothy Day's most famous work. A co-founder of the Catholic Worker, Day was one of the great 20th century voices of American Catholic progressivism. She has been declared a Servant of God and her cause for sainthood is currently in process. Very good .
