We specialize in scarce, out-of-print, secondhand, used and hard to find books and ephemera in many disciplines, with particular emphasis on non-fiction, reference books, botany, gardening, landscape design, orchid culture and general horticulture. You are invited to browse our special selections of hard-to-find and used books in the physical and life sciences, history of science and medicine, alchemy, natural history, botany, gardening, horticulture, orchid culture and plant lore. We also offer a diverse general stock, ranging from new and recently published books to vintage rarities in classic literature, fiction, poetry, first editions, science fiction, illustrated and scholarly works, non-fiction, hobbies & crafts, reference books and those hard-to-find eclectic oddities.
Please note: Our apologies, but due to current import restrictions and licensing requirements imposed by the German government, we cannot ship packages to Germany at this time. Payments accepted: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, international postal money orders in USD, Paypal and Propay invoice.
Shipping:
Please email us at info@ravenroostbooks.com prior to ordering so that we can provide you with your exact shipping cost. Shipping methods and rates are determined by weight and destination. Rates are quoted assuming an average book weight of 2.2 lbs or 1 kg. Smaller than average books may be charged lower shipping rates. For large or oversized books, extra shipping costs may be required and we will contact you if necessary. Whenever book size permits, we will provide Flat Rate Shipping for domestic Priority Mail or International Priority Mail.
Domestic Standard Mail is $5.75, Domestic Priority Mail may range from $5.95 to $12.95 depending on destination, weight and eligibility for flat rates. International First Class Mail is $18.95 to Canada and about $24.95-31.00 to most other countries and limited to orders weighing less than 4 lbs. International Priority Mail Flat Rate (if book size permits) is $19.95 to Canada and $23.95 to most other countries, again if book size permits. Average weight-based Priority Mail International (non-Flat Rate) can range from $28.00-$50.00 for average sized books. Express Mail rates are now calculated by geographic zone-please inquire for a quote in advance before ordering if you are in need of express services so that we can give you the most economical option available. Please note the above rates are examples only, for single books of an average weight of 2.2 lbs. Multiple book rates will be calculated accordingly at checkout. When you place items in your shopping cart and proceed to checkout, you will be given the shipping charges based on the destination information you provide and the shipping method you have chosen. Orders are usually processed and shipped within 24-36 hours of receipt with the exception of weekends, extremely inclement weather and post office holidays. Our books are packed and boxed with great care, with the rigors of transit, handling, delivery and adverse weather conditions kept in mind.
Returns and Guarantee: We want your complete satisfaction. Items may be returned for a refund for any reason. We request that the returned item(s) be carefully repacked and in the same condition received and returned within 5 business days (US orders) or 14 business days (international orders). Customer pays return postage unless there is an error on our part. We do request that you give prior notification by email for any returns. Your refund will be processed upon arrival and inspection of the returned item.
