Terms of Sale

WELCOME to Le Flaneur Amsterdam, a second hand bookstore specializing foremost in “must-read books”: mostly literature heavy-weights in many languages, and other topics with an emphasis to history, including but not limited to English, German, French, Dutch, Turkish, Italian and Spanish, Portuguese along with curiosa and vintage items.
THIS IS a BRICK&MORTAR shop at Prinsengracht 260 O, Amsterdam. Come see the collection at slicker prices. The shop is open every day 12:00-18:00 (COVID UPDATE: Open between 13:00-17:00 Ma, Wed. Thu, Fri, Sat).
FREE SHIPPING for orders of and over €50 in the Netherlands.
PLEASE ALWAYS CHECK your junk mail folder, I always respond in two days at most.
-------------------------------------ORDERS / PAYMENT / SHIPMENT / TRIVIA------------------------------------

THE BOOKS you inquire and/or order are reserved up to a week and then relisted if sale is canceled or you fail to respond. Orders can be picked-up from the shop or delivered free in a 2.5 km. radius in Amsterdam. For other destinations, we send in two workdays after the payment is received.
We accept bank transfers through visa, master card or debit card, but always prefer in house shopping and payment, which is easier, healthier, and (goes without saying) cheaper for all parties. Prices are in Euro and do not include other costs such as shipping and insurance.
Domestic shipments cost €4.10 for book orders fitting mailbox, bigger parcels up to 1 kg cost €5.00, and up to 10kg cost €6.00. We send worldwide where possible, shipping costs vary depending on the destination and parcel.
RETURN: If not satisfied, you can return purchased items in 14 days after receiving and get a refund of your purchase, except for the shipping costs. Full refund in case of incompatibility with the item description.
DESCRIPTIONS: Page numbers indicate numbered pages. Please keep in mind the age of books when reading book conditions. Books are checked (almost) page by page, depicted truthfully and in detail (thus shorter the depiction, better the book), but some minor, repeating or similar imperfections may go unmarked. If there is no depiction, which is the case with some of the earliest additions, please ask before ordering. And do rate accordingly and generously if the book is really as described, regardless of possible and natural higher expectations. Feel free to contact us for further information or photos.
Excellent or like new: as issued or with negligible imperfections, collectible / very good: minor imperfections such as user marks, curling, soiling, and/or age wear, collectible; / good: moderate imperfections but still comfortably readable, might be desirable as a collectible item if hard to find, rare or special / fair: Readable but may have considerable wear, dirt, foxing etc. Might still be desirable if hard to find, rare or special, but substantially cheaper.
You can search our internet database by using catalogues in our antiqbook page. You can also search by languages with keywords corresponding the language+0: For instance, for English: English0, for Italian, italiano0, for Dutch Nederlands0, but for Turkish, please use only the keyword: “Turkce”.
We also BUY "good titles" that you cannot find room at home. Literature, history and philosophy titles in several languages are most welcome.
