All six title pages are bound in to the rear of division 10. Dark blue boards rubbed and stained in places, corners and spine ends bumped, blind stamped decorated boards with gilt emblem to centre of front board and gilt lettering to spine, uncut closed edges, spines sunned, list of publisher's titles to front of Volumes 1, 3, 4, 6, 7 and 9, tissue guard to frontispiece of George Buchanan to Volume 1 and all other black and white plates with tissue guards, some spotting to initial and final pages, green and cream patterned endpapers to Volumes 2-10, some ink markings to several pages at end of Volume 1, otherwise pp clean and text clear to read, some creasing to centre of pages but pp secure in binding.
