I tell it for many reasons, especially to pass on the knowledge that it is still possible for a young man with energy, hard work, and determination to lift himself out of poverty and to assume a responsible role in life, but MOST OF ALL, to acknowledge my debt to America. I often think that the USA is best appreciated by those who, like myself, have been born amidst the politcal up-heaval, the wars, the brutality and oppression of foreign lands. While the light of freedom burns bright in our land there is hope for the world, and every day of my life, I say to myself, 'God Bless America'. " Harry Burt was born in 1887 in Turkey, of a very poor family. He came to America in 1900, with his Mother, joining his Father who had already become an American citizen. Harry became very successful in the jewelry business in Rhode Island and a promoter of the Armenian Church in the US . This is his story, and his Philosophy of Life, and his praise for his adopted country, America. Numerous b/w photos.. Very Good- .
