CARROLL, LEWIS - The Nursery Alice

Book, Carroll wanted a version of his "Alice in Wonderland" that was suitable for younger readers, hence the publication of "The Nursery Alice" in 1889. The type was enlarged, the story abridged, and the plates colored. The original cover illustration was by E. Gertrude Thomson and is included in this 1966 Dover facsimile reprint. The book reduced in size from the original. Carroll historian Martin Gardiner adds a new introduction in this edition. There is smudging to the cover and a spot of discoloration to the front endpaper, but overall this book is in pretty good shape and would make a nice addition to a Lewis Carroll collection or provide a different read of his classic.
