Maiest. gratia & priuilegio ad annos VI; Basileae, ex officina Oporiniana; 1571." Complete, in Greek & Latin, in 1121 pages plus extensive indexing. The frontpiece has a woodcut vignette. Several chapters include woodcut initial lettering. The pigskin-over-wooden-boards binding has a tooled central vignette, tooled scenes surrounding, & a stamped date 1582, although the book was published in 1571 as indicated on the title page (possibly rebound in 1582). The binding lacks the clasps but retains the clasp fasteners on the front cover. The binding remains tight & the pages are relatively clean & fresh, with only faint browning on some of the edges. A few pages of the volume have such hand-written additions added to the pages, apparently by the same hand & apparently 16th century.". Fair/No Jacket.
