In the original gilt stamped 1/4 leather over brown pebbled cloth, with decorative endpapers and a ribbon marker. TEXT IN ITALIAN. A former priest's name stamp is present on a front blank endpaper. Overall, clean, tight and very good. Hundreds of Catholic martyrs died between 1745 and 1862. In this book, there is an overview of 8 Dominican martyrs that were beatified by Pope Pius the X in the year 1906. The book is basically divided into two parts, Martyrs of the XVIIIth century and Martyrs of the XIX century. Very rare! WorldCat lists only 8 copies.
