ROLAND FRY - Manual of Commerical Correspondence

London England, Sir Isaac Pitman & Sons, 1962. Fourth Edition, Binding: Cloth, Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall Hardback Many of the extant textbooks on the subject are excellent, but they seem to suffer from the defect of leaving the student to work out for himself from the models given a set of principles for the of all letters, In this work these principles are enunaciated where necessary - not with the intention f spoon-feeding the student, but of relieving him of the need to mebark on a process of induction probably beyond his powers. Controversial points have been introduced deliberately, and an effort has been made in such cases t avoid dogmatism. If such points provoke discussion they have proved worthy of inclusion, for the standard of commercial correspondence will rise at it becomes the subject of conscious thought. Since the first edition, there have been introduced additional exercises, some of a rather technical and detailed nature, which should show the diffident student that principles once mastered can be applied to most cases, simple or complex.
