Verso's blank , entirely lithographed loose leafs as issued.Text and illustrations, head pieces and frames in a very clean, symbolistic manner by the lesser known Henricus, (artsist name for Hendricus Jansen) This exquisite book was printed by the well known lithographic printing office of S. Lankhout at The Hague, Published in a very limited edition; 30 copies on Japan and 250 copies on Dutch moulded paper, this is # 56. The nicely decorated colophon leaf is dedicated to the printers ("dit blad is den drukkers Tillman en Rietzman opgedragen") The evenso finely decorated half title gives as a concealed message: " aan dit werk is gearbeid van september 1902 tot september 1904" (this work was executed between sept. 1902 untill sept. 1904) (!!) A most sumptuous and delicate production. The original decorated cloth portfolio worn and stained at covers, contends very fresh, ties present. Here a much condensed Medieval classic, Dutch, text with some musical scores, exuisite ornamentation and figures in superb lithographical colour printing.
