THE PRESIDENTIAL COOK BOOK Adapted from The White House Cook Book
Akron, OH, Saalfield Publising Company 1908, hb. Ill.: black-&-white illustrations. Bound in original off-whit cloth with green blocked lettering. 8vo, pp. 440, ads. Contains three photo pages of three presidents' wives: Roosevelt, McKinley, and Cleveland.
¶ The text is printed on inferior paper (rather like newspaper stock), which has now age-toned. The contents are prefectly readable, however. Several pags of ads at the end have pencilled recipes of notes. The contents are remarkably clean and unmarked. Inside the front board is a partially removed sticker which states, in part: "This Cook Book is presented with the compliments of the Toronto Daily World". The binding is tight. The boards show a bit of rubbing to the spine ends and corners, and the cloth has some soiling. Notwithstanding, this is a very good copy.
