D. Goodman, an illustrated paper on the so-called "White Dodo", etc., etc. Especially the paper on Annam and Cochin China birds is very well-illustrated, figuring many new, peculiar taxa. Front wrapper of the fourth part torn and repaired, map of Soudan - belonging to a minor paper - cut in two (binder's error); otherwise in an excellent condition, plates and text clean.

Contained in cardboard slipcase. = First edition. On each plate a photograph of a cloud, or several cloud-types (some coloured) and a drawing of the same with detailed explanation. A chronological bibliography is included, starting with a work by the great French zoologist and botanist Lamarck (1802). Do not confuse with the 1938 edition, which has only 41 plates, or an identically titled German publication from 1940. Small stamp on portfolio front board. Portfolio hinges weak due to the heavy contents. Otherwise a very nice, complete copy. Definitely rare.
