BLACKSTONE, SIR WILLIAM/WILLIAM DRAPER LEWIS (UNIV. OF PENNSYLVANIA)
Commentaries on the Laws of England in Four Books [Blackstone's Commentaries, Lewis's Edition] - Complete in 4 Volumes
Philadelphia, Rees Welsh & Company, copyright 1897, published 1898. 1898. Hardcover . Hardbacks, small 4to's, appx 7 3/8 x 10 1/8 inches, tan cloth with maroon and black spine labels (gilt titles), xxx + 2021 total pages, about VG/no dustjackets. Not without flaws, but generally clean and only a light amount of wear. Boards only light soiling. Light foxing to some of the boards + small areas of two spines. Lower board of one volume shows tide marks (moisture) along a few inches at the fore-edge. Name in ballpoint to all 4 front pastedowns, otherwise endpapers are mostly clean and hinges intact. (Very light foxing along fore-edge of a few of the end-papers + a small nibble, perhaps, or small tear out at the top edge of one front hinge of about 3/16ths of an inch.) Out of 8 spine labels, 2 have a small spot of rubbing (or scuff) that affects the type (but not greatly) and 2 others have more insignificant flaws. Two volumes have minor trauma to the top edges of a very few pages of the text, apparently from unsafe storage + top edges of all volumes show light dustiness. Very Good.
