ARCHITECTURAL RECORD
Architectural Record: Various Issues from 1924 to 1926, bound in four volumes
New York, FW Dodge Corporation 1924-26 c.1000 pages, including many bw and colour illustrations, many advertisements. 26x19, four uniform quarter-bound blue and yellow cloth, pasted labels on spines. Cloth faded and a bit grubby, sketches by previous owner on some endpapers, contents generally very good (although note that there is no coherence to the order of journals, and it is very difficult to be sure exactly which issues have been bound in: there are 20 front covers bound into one volume, and all articles are generally bound in the correct order and complete - advertisements appear to be randomly inserted with no reference to page numbers at all.) Assorted issues of Architectural Record from the mid 1920s, bound almost at random into four volumes: one can only imagine what had been going in the library bindery that day, though it might be possible to rebind in some sort of coherent order! Lots of interesting articles and well produced photographs, on architectural projects large and small in the United States and beyond. [nb heavy item, will require additional postage to some destinations].

ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW
The Architectural Review (Vol 97, No 580, April 1945)
Cheam, Architectural Press 1945 lxiv adverts etc, 36pp, many bw photos etc. 36x28, wraps. Spine a bit chipped, with some small loss, good thus. Special issue - and title on the cover - is Electricity in its Regional Setting, with articles on design, siting (inspired by the recent Barlow Report) of power generating facilities, distribution networks and associated industry. Authors include Thomas Sharp and GA Jellicoe, with concerns expressed about the potential impact of hydro-electric scheme on the lines of the TVA on the natural beauty of the Highlands and other mountainous parts of the country. Rather entertainingly one of the large advertisement at the front is for the coal burning Aga domestic stove...
