Printed, yapped wrapper soiled, bumped and creased. A concise biography of Victorian benefactor Alfred Fenton, born Maldon, Essex, England in 1831. He arrived in Victoria in 1853, becoming a very successful druggist. On his death on 8 January, 1904, he left a large fortune to Victoria, a part of which has purchased (and continues to) world class works of art for the National Gallery of Victoria.
