London. c1745. ---- The Map is entitled "Intrenchment of the Army of the Allies to cover the Siege of Douay against the French Army, that came to raise it in June 1710." ----- It offers a representation of a military encounter between French and Anglo-Dutch forces. The various military formations and maneuvers are depicted with great detail. The map was engraved by Isaac Basire (1704-1768), with his name appearing at the lower right. Measuring approximately 20.5" x 16", on laid paper, Displays light toning and folds. The maps show no punctures, tearing or markings. Rear of map blank. Fold not prominently noticeable. Handsome and presents well. Very Good.
