Spegazzini, C. [L.]
Fungi Guaranitici. [nonnulli novi v. critici].
Buenos Aires, Sociedad Scientķfica Argentina, 1883-1891. 8vo (25.5 x 16.1 cm). ca. 330 pp. Slightly later grained half moroccco over marbled boards. Gilt title on the spine. = A rare work on the fungi of central South America (southern Brazil, Paraguay, parts of Bolivia, etc.), with the description of many new genera and new species. In total 802, [435, 202, 165] numbered species are discussed. Originally published in the Anales de la Sociedad Scientķfica Argentina. Volbracht only lists the author's earlier Fungi argentini, which is a similar work, dealing with the fungi of higher latitudes. This copy is a bound volume of excerpts of the original issues with occasional single pages at the beginning or end of a section dealing with an unrelated matter. Pagination, therefore, is odd. Spine cover abraded, first few leaves spotted, repair to last leaf, one section age-toned due to a different paper, otherwise a good, complete copy. Very rare. Volbracht, 2030 [not this work].
