A wonderful book.

The catalogue to the exhibition held in honour of photographer Yasuhiro Ishimoto. The Mandalas of Two Worlds, are preserved in the Kuoo Gokoku-ji, in Japan. They are one of the oldest and best preserved mandala's known and rarely seen by the public eye. The renouned Japanese photographer Yashuro Ishimoto however was allowed to photograph them. He succeded in gripping the full intense significanse of these artefacts.

A brief chronology of his life is provided at the end in English, and the summery of the plates also has English subtitles. But most of the text is in Japanese.
