In the original (or from the period) publisher's paper-covered boards, gilded edges. The spine area cracked and with light scuff marks to the boards. Internally without inscriptions. Mild foxing to most pages but more so to the first and last pages.. Very Good with no dust jacket .

Wilhelm Bleek (1827-1875) was one of the most important scholars on African languages. Ernst Haeckel, Bleek's cousin and friend, wrote the preface.
