An essay on the philosophy of history by French author Constantin Francois de Chasseboeuf, the Comte de Volney. In this work, Volney discusses his vision for a union of all religions in the world, an interesting insight on the radical political theories of the end of the eighteenth century. Illustrated with a folding plate to the frontispiece, and one folding map.This edition also includes 'The Law of Nature&apos.Collated, complete. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, with light rubbing to the spine and extremities, and lighter rubbing to the boards. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Front hinge is starting but firm. Lacking the front endpaper. Bookplate and prior owner's ink inscription to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with a few scattered spots, including to the plates. Prior seller's note tipped in to the verso of the title page. Very Good . Ill.: Not Stated. Very Good .
