Paul Sandby featured the mill at the centre of his newly-exhibited painting, A View of Vinters at Boxley, Kent, with Mr. Whatman's Turkey Paper Mills, in the Royal Academy annual exhibition of 1794. This book examines Sandby's art as well as the interlinked developments of papermaking and watercolor painting in Britain. In addition, the book addresses the changes in the British countryside as a result of the beginnings of industry.
