Sturdy, attractive, tightly bound set of three texts of the works of Plato, bound in hardcover, generally clean but with previous owner's penciled notes and light underlining here and there. Minimal rubbing to extremities, bumping to spine heads and feet, heavier toning to endpapers of one volume, forward cock to its spine. Blue cloth over boards, gilt lettering to spines. From the personal library of the noted English historian of Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome, Professor Peter Morris Green, now of Iowa City, Iowa, 99 years old, nearly blind, but still working, in this case on a new translation and with annotations, of Herodotus, his favorite historian. Texts mostly in Greek but also with Latin, with translations and commentary by Ioannes Burnet.
