Binder's ticket: Edmund Nest, Gloucester. Book-plate of Sir William Vernon Guise F.G.S., F.L.S. (1816-1887), who had a wide interest in geology, conchology, botany and archaeology, was president of the Cotteswold Naturalists Field Club for twenty eight years from 1859 to 1887, and whose extensive collection of fossils was presented to the County Museum in Gloucester, where much of it is still to be found in the reference collections.
