As Professor Joll demonstrates in his Introduction, the essay also reveals much about the prejudices and passion underlying the historical writing of one of Britain's most prominent historians. Spine gilt is nicely sharp and shiney. Front cover has a shallow crease down the center causing a little bend. The jacket is in decent shape with average wear for its vintage. The edges have rubbing and small tatters, and the back has faded. Publisher's sticker on lower spine. Very Good/Good.
