Philadelphia: John C. Winston Co., (1958.) 2nd printing. An early title in the classic Winston series of juvenile science fiction, written by some of those who would go on to be among the most respected writers in the genre, and by those with a knowledge and background. Latham was an astromer since 1931 at Mt. Wilson and Palomar Observatories, the author of a college textbook on astromony, and advisor to Hollywood on movies involving space adventures. Dust jacket illustration by Alex Schomburg. Ex-library with markings and significant reading wear, but in a fair only dust jacket (spine label, loss of about 1 inch at bottom of spine of dj).
