Pacific Rim Letters
Edmonton, NeWest Publishers, Limited. 2005, First Edition. (ISBN: 1896300707). Softcover, 8vo. pp. 359."Pacific Rim Letters is a never-before-seen collection of letters Roy Kiyooka wrote between 1975 and 1985. It presents a fascinating and highly valuable picture of the artistic and literary communities Kiyooka was actively involved with, as well as Kiyooka as a man with an extraordinary intellect and passion for life and the arts. Kiyooka takes the epistolary form into new and radical directions. At once tenderly estranged and confessional, attentive as much to the minutiae of daily life as to the complexities of artistic and literary creation, and embedded in the politics of culture-making and those of racialized identities, these letters are a literary achievement in their own right. ". Very Good/Paperback.

Transcanada Letters
Vancouver, Talonbooks. 1975, First. (ISBN: 0889220719) Pictorial Card, 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Miniscule rubbing, bumping or shelfwear. Spine is straight, and although it shows vertical creasing, this creasing has not affected the integrity of the text block. Interior is tight and unmarked, even crisp and apparently unread. Unpaginated. Loose inside this book there is an actual b&w photo of a group portrait of the author with seven individuals who would seem to be members of his family. The photo has two light moisture stains which are only visible when it is viewed from an angle. The seller theorizes that each of the early first editions of this book contained such a photo, since it would match the graphics on the front and rear of the cover, which show an arm and hand holding a photo. Fine/No Jacket as Issued.
