Actually a small 8vo edition of this popular Renaissance work that was attributed to Aristotle (though having nothing to do with him) and comprising answers to questions (Why does red hair turn white sooner than other hair? Why does a man yawn when he sees another yawn?). It was commonly printed with other "Problemata", in this case those of Averroes, Aphrodisias and Marc-Antonio Zimara (a scholar and physician of the early 16th century). 285pp. Bound in front of the Problemata is what appears to be a condensed edition of Aristotles Works with some additions (commentary on Boethius, a section on Averroes) - heavy damage to the vellum binding has caused the loss of the first 32 pages of the text but the table of contents bound at the end shows this to be an opera - included after the lost pages are 157pp (189pp). Included are 24 liber including sections on Poetics, Metaphysics, Politics, Economics, letters to Alexander, Death, etc. It is difficult to ascertain exactly what the first book is, but it seems intended to appeal to readers of the Problemata with short excerpts of discussions, questions and explanations. Heavy wear to vellum but intact - most of the damage is internal with the first 32 pages missing and heavy damage to the rear endpapers and the last text page (top three lines obscured). Otherwise the text is clean is slightly soiled and occassional worming in margins. A very interesting edition of the popular Problemata made moreso by the additional preceding material.
