Daniel and his family struggle to make a living and he gets himself into some real fixes. He tries to do the right thing to help him out of them while witnessing along the way, though he struggles and wonders why God allows certain things to happen to good people and making God real in his own life instead of just being a fatherly figure. The author is a graduate of Arizona State University so all of her stories ring with an authenticity as she grew up in the state she is writing about. While reading this series you will learn a lot about how hard life was, but fun too for those pioneer families who led the way and opened up the Southwestern part of the United States.
