On rear of title page is a stamp (appox 5cm x 3cm grid type stamp - not dissimilar to a library stamp) - this is stamp used by the former owner of the book for date and shelving etc. Cover sound but evidence of normal wear/use . Internally netting slightly visible on some sections but holding soundly is slightly stretched. Slight dust marking to some edges etc. Basically a sound hardback book but showing signs of age and use in torn and worn dust wrapper.. Acceptable/see Description . Very clean tight pages with lightly rubbed boards and a little dustiness to page edges. 210pp. A lively re-telling of the journey undertaken by Clement M Doke and his father, the Reverend Joseph J Doke, from South Africa to the area known as Lambaland in Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia) in 1913, and of Doke's subsequent residence among the Lamba people during a seven year period as a Baptist missionary. The account is a biography, details of a missionary exercise and everyday life at Kafulafuta Mission in the second decade of the last century and finally a window on the natural history of the area.
