No.ΒΆ [Cont.] with plates.-corrected, improved and enlarged. 12mo, XI, 190Pp. + 5 FP etchings after Rowlandson. First American Edition. This is in the spirit of Campe, if not by him. It includes adventures in Boston, Hartford, New Haven, NYC, Phila. Halifax, Quebec[and the countryside, nearby], Niagara Falls. With some satire at the expense of American medicine and science. The edition number follows that of English Campe editions, from American editions alone there were, in fact, only 2 earlier edition, in 1805 and 1812. OCLC notes no paper copies of either, and a defective copy was used for the photos of one of the fiches. The 1812 edition is said to have 5 plates, but a copy, used for Microfiches, includes 6 plates for our edition, although all paper copies noted have 5. Shaw 38306.
