Description: Berkeley, CA: Norman Moser, 1983. Two-page TLS from poet, editor and graphic designer Moser to actor Paul Newman, asking for Newman's patronage for his writing and publishing activities. Letter details Moser's writing career and the difficulty of making a living as a writer and small press publisher. Also included is a Proposed Budget, typed on a single sheet, and a one-page typed sample of Moser's poetry, with handwritten dedication "to Yuri." A follow-up letter of February 8, 1983 is also present. It is a single typed sheet, signed by Moser. A poem by Moser, typed on a single sheet of onionskin paper, is included. The original mailing envelope is present, and appears from cancellations to have been mailed. it was apparently returned to Moser by the recipient. Condition of letters is Near Fine; the sample poetry sheets are somewhat faded, but are Very Good; mailing envelope is faded, stained and torn, merely Good. .
