Description: London: Curtis's Botanical Magazine, 1809. Hand-colored copper engraving of the Red-flowered Pungent Epacris by botanical artist Sydenham Edwards. Appeared as plate number 1199 in Curtis's Botanical Magazine Volume XXX in 1809. Edwards did most of the paintings for Curtis's until 1814, when he left to found his own magazine. Single leaf, 5-1/2 x 9 inches. Some age-toning to paper, but colors are bright and plate, which appears to have been removed carefully, is in Near Fine condition. .
