Roberto Chavez is a painter finally being recognized for his seminal role in Los Angeles Chicano art of the 50s through 70s. Three major shows are coming up for him between now and 2014: Autry Museum in LA is the most prestigious, funded I believe by the Getty Foundation, exhibit 2011; East Los Angeles College, where he had a mural (commissioned by the administration) destroyed by the administration, exhibit in 2014; Santa Rosa Junior College, 2012. .
