[3] - 10 pp. 8vo. 8-3/16" x 5-3/8". Age-toning to wrappers, which also have some modest edge rash. A VG copy of a work only held by 4 institutions, per OCLC. Scarce early work on Oakland California, publishing a talk given in the city's 25th year. To quote Dr. Lewis, "Do you ask me why I have chosen Oakland as my home? .. In fixing upon the place where I would live, I asked only one question - Where can I find the best climate? Knowing that health is everything, and feeling that my own personal condition demanded the best possible atmosphere, I came to your city." As an Oakland resident myself, I cannot do more than wholeheartedly agree- today, October 29, as I write this, the sun is shining, and the temperature is a pleasant 74 degrees. Friends in Boston tell me it's snowing.
