Original publisher's blue cloth, with printed paper title label to spine. xix, [1 (blank)], 442, [2] pp. Engraved frontispiece by A. Fox after Stothard. 4" x 2-1/4". Spine a bit sun-tanned, with lower third of the paper label chipped away [title lettering intact]. A VG copy. Billed as a "typographical tour de force", the Diamond Classic series was Pickering's first strong push in the publishing business. Initially only the classic (in the sense of Greek/Roman) authors were issued; this later expanded to include Shakespeare, Milton, etc.
