A Very Good copy. A bound volume of six related, though distinct, theses of Medicine, with the 1st, 3rd & 4th attended under the direction of one of the most brilliant scientists of the era, Georg Wolfgang Wedel. However, the piece of distinction must be credited to that of Stahl, a protege of Wedel's at Jena who achieved his own place of prominence in the early 18th C scientific world both as a practicing physician and as a proponent of the 'anima' philosophy, of which blood circulation plays a key role. ".. through his writings [he] became vastly influential... [in fact, the DSB continues] Stahl influenced the whole of eighteenth-century medicine; and his imprint is being increasingly appreciated as historians trace his role in the drama of eighteenth-century medical thought." OCLC records only 1 institutional holding of this very early Stahl title on blood circulation, which was published in Halle while Stahl lectured at the University, and where he remained till 1715 until being called to court by Frederick William I of Prussia, to assume the position of court physician.
