This volume also has mention of Golf: divers results in Scotland (e.g., p. 423, reporting the results of the contest for the Silver Club), and p. 334 reprints a correspondent's letter wherein the Editor is advised of the "poor attempt to imitate a 'gouf-club', which is not the least like one; therefore, not wishing the readers of this work should be deceived by the poor model of Mr. Curlewis, given in your last, I have sent a figure of the club."
