NY: Simon & Schuster, [1973]. First US edition of the author's second novel. Blue cloth and blue boards, blue endpapers. Fine copy. Price clipped jacket has creases to front flap, else fine. This is the second state binding, with a blind stamped star to rear cover. All such cop ies were price-clipped by the publisher. We think they were distributed by the book club. The actual book club edition was made from plates of the 2nd printing and has a square blind stamp on rear cover. The book club occasionally buys up and issues copies of actual first editions (as opposed to their own printings).
