Description: Contemporary parchment binding, 120 x 70 mm, 24º: A-S#8 (-S7,8), 284 pp. Engraved title page with printer’s mark of Blaeu. First flyleaf is missing, further in good state. Seneca’s tragedies with on the title page the printer’s mark (sundial) of the firm Blaeu from Amsterdam. At first glance it appears to be a reprint of the editions in vicesimo-quarto (24º) from 1619 and 1624, but it’s more likely that this is the same edition printed again because the first copies were sold-out. The engraved title page, however, was not copied very carefully and in addition, in the year a “C” is forgotten. Interestingly enough Schweiger did not detect this error in his ‘Handbuch der classichen Bibliographie.’ Rare edition. ZKL0074
