The Hague, Gosse, fils, 1775. First edition in French, 2 volumes, 8vo, engraved frontispieces, large folding map of Bengal, full contemporary calf gilt, previous owner's embossed stamps and rubberstamps on half-titles; very good copy. Bolts was a Dutch adventurer who entered the Bengal civil service and who got into trouble for private trading in the name of the East India Company.
