First edition, 12mo., pp. 125, [3], [4] (ads); engraved frontispiece portrait, 11 full-page illustrations in the text (1 double page); spine ends slightly rubbed, otherwise a very good copy in original pictorial blue cloth, stamped in gilt and black. This copy contains a cancelled slip tipped in at the title page stating that this has been published in Chicago and New York by Fleming H. Revell. Bainbridge worked as a missionary in New Zealand and was killed in the eruption of Mt. Tarawara, 1886.
