Edition limited to 275 numbered, hand-bound copies signed by Miller, thin 8vo, pp. 62-[63]; title-page printed in green and black; original white cloth titled in gilt on spine and front cover, to which is applied a b/w photograph of Miller, some very minor soiling to spine and upper back cover, else a fine, unread copy. Of Jacob Wassermann's 1929 novel, Miller writes that "it is not the greatest book I have ever read… [yet] it haunts me… for it does contain a secret in the form of a riddle" (p. 25).
