First edition, this one of large-paper issue with India proofs, tall 8vo, [3] & 68pp., 12 mounted plates; a very good copy in 19th-century blue polished calf gilt with some wear to extremities and scattered minor scuff- marks, titled in gilt on front cover, gilt decorated spine in 6 compartments, page edges browning, not affecting illustrations, not preserving the original wrappers. Cohn 36 identifies the author as [C.] Apel and the delineator of the plates as Crowquill.
