Sir George Baker (1722 – 1809) was an English physician and President of the Royal College of Physicians. He was appointed physician to the Queen's household and then physician to King George III, attending the king during his periods of madness.He was a good classical scholar and fluent in Latin and Greek. This work contains a number of the papers in Latin he published in Latin.Comprised of: 'De catarrho epidemico'; 'De dysenteria epidemica'; 'De affectibus animi, et morbis inde oriundis' and 'Oratio Harveiana&apos.Professionally rebound for the Birmingham Central Hospital Library with the original bookplate, of one 'Johnstone', mounted on the front pastedown. Sympathetically rebound in full morocco. Externally, generally smart with just some very minor wear to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Some light and occasional spotting; pages otherwise clean with just the occasional contemporary ink annotation in Latin or institutional stamp. Several pages have repaired closed tears. Very Good .
