The collection was published posthumously in 1869 by his sister. In this work, Baudelaire aimed to capture the political upheaval in France during the mid-nineteenth century. It explores many themes, such as poverty, social class, intoxication, morality and mortality. In a quarter cloth binding. Externally very smart, with a little fading to the spine.
