For each wish granted to this man, the shagreen becomes smaller, consuming a part of his energy. In a half calf binding with marbled boards. Externally, generally smart, with slight rubbing to the extremities and joints. The odd mark to the boards. Head of the front joint is slightly cracked. Front hinge is somewhat strained, but holding firm. Remnants of label to the front paste down. Previous owner's pencil inscription to the verso of the front endpaper. Firmly bound.
