Bannerman provides species identification, distribution, migration, and breeding behaviours of each species discussed. For this work, artist George E. Lodge painted three-hundred and seventy-seven images depicting four-hundred and thirty-five species.Illustrated with twenty-six colour plates to volume VI; twenty-seven to volume VII; twenty-six to volume VIII; and twenty-three to volume X. With each plate retaining the original captioned tissue guard. Collated, complete.Lacking a title page to Volume VI; containing instead a duplicated contents page. In the publisher's original cloth bindings, with the original unclipped dust wrappers. Externally, cloth is in excellent condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. A little sunning to the spines of the dust wrappers to volume VI, VII, and X, but otherwise dust wrappers remain bright. Small closed tear to the front of the wrap to volume VI and VII. Chipping to the head of the spine of the wrap to volume VII and X. Fine . Ill.: David E. Lodge. Fine/Near Fine.
