Barnes began writing poetry in the Dorset dialect, after living in Dorchester, as he felt it was near to the Anglo Saxon English dialect, which he was passionate about. Bound in full calf. Externally very smart with slight rubbing to the joints, a closed tear to the leather to head of the spine and the odd minor mark to the boards. Bookplate for 'Estcourt Library' to the front pastedown. Internally firmly bound with bright pages and the odd minor spot to the front and rear blanks. Booksellers stamp to the front blank.
