This novel has a colour frontispiece of a man and woman, illustrated by American painter and illustrator Ralph Pallen Coleman. Coleman was known for his magazine and religious illustrations, with his career spanning more than half a century. Ink inscription to front endpaper and paste down, saying 'Harold J. Lewis, Newfoundland Pa, from Dad' dated 2/22/22. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, very smart, with light bumping to the extremities. The odd mark, mainly to the rear board.
